The CLAAS Cougar 1400 is the world's biggest mower

Who owns the world’s biggest mower? Watch the video to see the unique Claas Cougar 1400 mow down every blade of grass it sees in record time.
The largest self-propelled mower around, the Cougar is powered by a DaimlerChrysler OM 457 LA engine that produces 438 hp, according to CNY Farm Supply. That moves the 40,700-pound machine along at a good rate, and with four-wheel drive, it is agile in the fields too. This combined with nearly 50 feet of cutting equipment, 46 feet wide to be exact, the Cougar can do the same job that several other mowers or tractors towing mowing devices can do. A farmer in 2006 mowed 20,000 acres in one season with a Claas Cougar 1400.

Watch the video to see the Cougar and its five mowing attachments climb hills with ease and turn on a dime. Able to cut many acres quickly, the Cougar helps make farms more efficient.
When it is the right time to make hay, the Cougar makes it easier for farmers to get the work done fast, although if they had the world’s biggest hay bale machine, it would be even better! It is also comfortable for the operator, with air conditioning and an ergonomic seat. When not in operation, the mowing segments of the vehicle neatly fold up to sit on the Cougar.
