A V8 supercharged 1969 Mercedes 280S? What?

Whoever said that Mercedes-Benz couldn’t compete on the track with the big boys must have never met this modified ‘69 classic. This Benz has badass written all over it and most definitely can go toe to toe with any hot rod!
While still attaining its factory look, this 1969 Mercedes 280S is rocking a supercharged small block 7L V8. Look at that cam. It’s huge!
In this Full Boost video, this Mercedes holds her own and makes her competition eat dust. Race after race, at the APSA Pro Street Shootout Round 3, on a drag way in Sydney, Australia, she leaves them at the starting line, wondering “Okay. What just happened here?”

According to Auto Evolution, "DEBENZ" lives in Australia, and probably outputs over 1, 500 hp. This 280s is like a granddad who refuses to grow old gracefully, instead tearing it up better than the youngsters of today.
With Mercedes-Benz’s “The Best or Nothing” slogan, you know this car has to bring it to the table every time. The Mercedes might not have been intended for race tracks such as these, but this baby is asking the question “Why not?”
Seeing as how Mercedes-Benz has continued to reinvent itself since it’s very beginning in 1886, it is no surprise this Benz is turning heads on and off the track.
