See how 65 years later, vintage 1951 Bucyrus Crane is still getting the job done

The 2015 Northeast Rockbusters Antique Construction Equipment Show was held in Plainfield, Connecticut, and it featured many different pieces of heavy equipment. From dozers and excavators to graders and loaders, these old beasts still had what it took to move some earth. The big names were all there - Caterpillar, Deere, Massey Ferguson, Mack and even Dodge.
For the antique cranes, though, the star of the show was a 1951 Bucyrus Erie 15B Crane and its operator.

The Bucyrus Erie 15B, or the 15B for short, was one of the most popular lifting and digging machines ever made, though it has rather sunk into obsolescence today.
According to the Historical Construction Equipment Association, this venerable piece of heavy equipment was produced for over 20 years and it was best known for its dependability, capacity and speed.
Many of these beasts are still in active, working operation today, which lends credence to the legendary durability of the 15B. With a 6-cylinder gas engine, this crane had what it took to be the leader in its field for decades.
