Check out the monstrous Bagger 293 bucket-wheel excavator. It shifts 8.5 million cubic feet of earth a day

The Bagger 293 is a bucket wheel excavator that has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest land-bound machine ever. If you want to see this super beast, you need to head on over to Germany, where she spends her days in the sun, creating large holes in the earth.
At 31 million pounds and more than two professional football fields in length, she is a massive machine that can spit out 12 tons of earth per second. Truly, a record-breaking machine that is awesome to see.

The sheer size of this 30-story tall earthmover is humbling to behold. Now, add in the fact that the wheel is 70 feet in diameter and home to 18 buckets that can each lift 15,000 pounds of earth.
According to Doon Tech, these buckets work 24 hours a day moving earth in the coalmines of Western Germany. The silver lining is that this giant machine is eco-friendly. She runs on 17,000 kilowatts of electricity and because of her massive size, there are no trucks involved to take the coal to the plants. It is fed along conveyor belts the whole way!
