This 74 Chevy is as tall as they get, after some pretty aggressive modifications. This 74 Chevy Nova SS Diesel Dually 3500 4X4 Pigeon Forge Rod Run is not just four-wheel drive, it’s fitted with a Cummins diesel engine. Not enough? It had duals on the back! Certainly not something you see every day.
This is a truly unique hot rod. You could pull a fifth wheeler with it! As the Scottie D puts it, it is a “redneck’s dream come true.” It’s a love-it-or-hate-it modification, depending on how you feel about the original Nova, but many who enjoy excessive muscle will wish they owned this extraordinary piece of American engineering.
32,542 Chevy Nova SSs were sold in 1973, according to BoldRide.com. It was the first year that large front and rear bumpers were added, because of a government mandate that all cars should be able to absorb impacts of 5 mph or lower.
Taking a look inside this modified Chevy, there’s a fully redone interior, and it’s a great job. The engine, surprisingly, fits perfectly into the bay and it doesn’t look like they had to do much cutting to get it in. Someone really took a lot of time and care to fix this beast up to the way it looks now. With its fresh coat of paint and more horsepower than you know what to do with, it is really a head-turner.
