See how these girls respond to the 1970 Dodge Charger

Take a gander at this racy commercial for the 1970 Dodge Charger that was apparently banned from broadcasting by some local affiliate stations. Some today would say it’s a bit of harmless fun. Others would say its sexist beyond belief.
As this new owner of a Dodge Charger 500 finds out, the car can be quite a draw. Hordes of scantily clad women are enticed to seduce the nerdy driver away from his more comely girlfriend, just as he is about to finally propose to her.

The 1970 Dodge Charger 500 was indeed something to get all hot and bothered about. Although the factory literature proclaimed that the standard engine was a 426 Hemi, most Dodge Chargers came with a 440 Magnum. In total, only 500 Charger 500s were made, and only 67 of those had the righteous 426 Hemi engine. Of those, a mere 27 were equipped with a 4-speed transmission, making them a collector's dream.
The Dodge Charger 500 would be eclipsed by the Dodge Charger Daytona, which had a significantly more aerodynamic front end. The 500 would continue to be produced into the early 1970s, but the muscle era was sadly coming to a close.
The Dodge Charger therefore remains an American icon. Still, it’s hardly worth chucking your long-term girlfriend over, Elliot.
