Are these bad boys too dangerous to operate? According to the Center for Construction Research and Training, heavy equipment vehicles and machinery have resulted in around 400 annual deaths between 1992 to 2010. In many of these cases, the vehicle itself was not named as a major source of the fatality. Causes instead involved collisions (being struck inbetween or by something) or some type of explosion.
Regardless of the stats, Missouri Employers Mutual reiterates the importance of workplace safety and encourages all employers to adequately train all staff who operate such machines.
