The Faun Trackway carries its own road around

What do you do when you’ve come to the end of the road but you still have a long way to go before you arrive at your destination? You call on your friends at Faun Trackway.
This Welsh company has designed a truck, also named the Faun Trackway, which actually carries its own versatile road on its back. It lays down the road and picks it back up when it’s done. Pretty cool.

According to Inhabitat, thin extrusions made of aluminum create a temporary road that will hold up to 70 metric tons. This can carry not only the machine itself but also other trucks and vehicles in the party. Machines that would have no chance of traversing sand, ice, or mud can do so effortlessly with the support of the Faun Trackway.
Although it was originally designed for military use, this amazing piece of machinery can also be used for disaster aid. Imagine if an area’s roads and streets are washed away during heavy rain storms, or a rock slide has cut off a community from the outside world. With the capability of rolling out 50 meters of its own road in six minutes, the Faun Trackway speeds up the time it takes rescuers and disaster convoys to reach people caught in disasters.
This machine is a lifesaver in more ways than one!
Marvel at the video of this machine in action below, and share if you think it’s cool.
