Wait - where's the operator in this 900-hp Caterpillar bulldozer?

When someone tells you to check out a YouTube video of a remote controlled bulldozer, you might be prepared for some kid racing his plush toy up and down the sidewalk. What you end up seeing may be enough to make your jaw drop to the floor: a massive Caterpillar D11T being driven without an operator in the cab!
This mammoth of a machine is fully functional; driving forward, in reverse and had full bucket movement. The operator, using his remote controls, operates the bulldozer, showing off its full range of capabilities.

The Caterpillar D11T is big, even for a bulldozer. According to CAT, it weighs a hefty 120 tons and has over 900 horsepower to push it along at a top speed of 7.3 miles per hour. It actually goes faster in reverse, where it can reach blistering speeds of 8.7 miles per hour. This mammoth has a displacement of 1959.0 cubic inches, a 5.7-inch bore and 6.4 inch stoke. It is powered by the Cat C32 ACERT engine and is durable, reliable and built to last.
Remote controlled bulldozers could be the future of heavy construction, as they’re safer and allow the controller an unfettered view. Check out the video below, and SHARE if you like it!
