At a plow day, particpants bring antique tractors and plows that are still in working order to plow a field for fun. Many of these venerable pieces of farm machinery are no longer in use except for at events such as a plow day, so it’s a privilege to see these workhorses still doing what they do best.
Here we can see the awesome power of Big Bud at Plow Day at Alvordton, Ohio, on August 8, 2015. In this video, Big Bud is plowing the field, dominating Plow Day with its massive 21-bottom plow! It makes short work of the rows, plowing a huge swath through the field in just a few minutes and dwarfing the other tractors in view.
Big Bud weighs about 130,000 lbs. when ballasted, and is over 28 foot long and 20 foot wide over the duals. It offers over 900 horsepower and it is normally used for cultivation purposes, pulling an 80-foot cultivator.
